  • Ban private prisons, cash bail, and civil forfeiture.


  • End the militarization of police.


  • Reform the police force to ensure that every dollar spent is put to good use and every officer isn’t overwhelmed with an excessive amount of duties.


  • Expand dialogue between law enforcement and the communities in which they serve to improve relations on both sides.


  • End racial and religious profiling among law enforcement.


  • End mass incarceration.


  • Explore alternatives to confinement for non-violent, low level offenders.


  • Phase out penalties for marijuana at the federal level.


  • Invest in programs working to help inmates re-enter society in a productive manner.


  • Ban no-knock warrants.


  • Ban chokeholds and any method of restraint that inhibits an individual’s ability to breathe.


  • Establish nongovernmental entity responsible for investigating incidences where unarmed individuals were killed by law enforcement.


  • Expand and increase dialogue with and representation of law enforcement personnel and criminal justice activists in the federal government.


  • Seek to condemn white supremacy and far right nationalism in all its forms. Label organizations in this category as hate and terrorists groups.


  • Perform thorough analysis of federal law enforcement apparatus. Fund programs that are working, lower funding for programs with inflated budgets, defund programs that aren’t effective.


  • Fund continued processing of backlogged rape kits and other physical materials collected during law enforcement investigations.
  • Reform and optimize National Crime Information Center to better help law enforcement.
  • Analyze national DNA and fingerprint databases to determine their effectiveness and whether all of law enforcement has access.


  • Examine use of solitary confinement in prisons nationwide and seek to eliminate or reduce it.


  • Fund creation and maintenance of database of missing persons and unidentified victims associated with properties managed by the National Parks Service.
